Beautiful Places to Eat in Cornwall
Through my work as a food and interior photographer in Cornwall; and plenty of visits simply for the pleasure of it ~ I’ve been fortunate to experience and photograph some of the county’s most beautiful restaurants, pubs and cafes.
This guide brings together some of the most beautiful and most thoughtfully designed places to eat in Cornwall, from candlelit dining rooms and characterful country pubs to relaxed restaurants beside the sea. Each has been chosen not only for its food, but for the atmosphere, interiors and sense of place that make a visit feel memorable.
This could never be a definitive list ~ Cornwall has far too many wonderful places to fit into one guide; but it is a personal collection of favourites that I’ll continue adding to. Prideaux Walled Garden, PADSTOW
A historic walled garden, lovingly restored and regenerated in the heart of Padstow. Visit The Bothy for coffee, cake and a seasonal lunch menu, made in our kitchen using produce from the garden and carefully sourced organic ingredients. Join them every Friday and Saturday evening for Bothy Lates—wine, cheese, charcuterie and light suppers in a beautiful garden setting.
THE SHORE RETAURANT, PENZANCE
The Shore Restaurant is an intimate seafood restaurant in Penzance, run entirely by chef and owner Bruce Rennie. Serving just 10 guests each night. I recently photographed The Shore, alongside Bruce’s kitchen garden, where he grows much of the fresh produce used in the restaurant. If you like seafood, then this restaurant in Cornwall should definitely be on your list.
MOR BY TOM SELLERS, CARBIS BAY
Michelin-starred chef Tom Story has brought his latest venture, Mor, to Carbis Bay Estate, and it’s safe to say it’s been one of Cornwall’s most anticipated restaurant openings this year. The menu is made for sharing, with a focus on seafood and the best of Cornwall’s produce. Read my full review here.

FLORA, NEW YARD - THE LIZARD PENINSULA
Flora at New Yard, is a cafe and restaurant championing local, seasonal produce grown on-site or sourced from small growers, farmers, fishermen and foragers. There’s so much to love about Flora—the food, ethos, interiors, warm team and overall atmosphere.
ARGOE, NEWLYN
Overlooking Newlyn Harbour, Argoe is inspired by coastal cooking ~ simple, unpretentious food that celebrates the farmers, fishermen and growers of the surrounding region.The menu is made for the table, centred on charcoal-grilled whole fish and paired with wines from the places that influence the kitchen.
FOUR BOYS, PADSTOW
A firm favourite of mine and one of Cornwall’s most loved restaurants. Set above the estuary in Rock, Four Boys is a relaxed restaurant and bar with a menu shaped by the seasons. Handmade pasta and fresh seafood lead the way, with dishes created to share around the table.
THE LOBSTER SHED, THE PIG AT HARLYN BAY
Tucked away at THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay, The Lobster Shed is a relaxed open-air spot serving locally caught fish, wood-fired meats and sides fresh from the kitchen garden. I can personally confirm that the lobster is a solid 10/10 ~ and no visit is complete without exploring the beautiful grounds.
NANCARROW FARM, TRURO
Nestled in a secluded valley near Truro, Nancarrow is a working farm and the most beautiful spot for weddings and feast nights. Guests wind their way along a tree-lined track, past ancient Cornish hedgerows, before reaching the family farmhouse at the centre of 100 acres of rolling fields and meadows.
COUNTER CULTURE, NEWQUAY
If you ask me my recommendations for a Newquay restaurant then I’ll ALWAYS send you here! The vibe is always on point (mainly pintxos and small plates), and so is the food and cocktails.
THE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT, RICK STEIN
At Rick Stein’s flagship restaurant, the menu evolves with the seasons to celebrate the finest local and sustainably sourced seafood. Alongside much-loved classics, you’ll discover seasonal dishes that showcase the very best of Cornish produce.
NO6, PADSTOW
In Padstow, Paul Ainsworth at No6 brings Michelin-star fine dining to life with modern British plates that champion seasonal Cornish produce, all set inside a charming Georgian townhouse. As well as photographed, I ate at the Chef’s table a few years ago and it was AMAZING.
THE TARTAN FOX, SUMMERCOURT
Led by Chef Adam Handling, The Tartan Fox is what I’d call boujiee and boozy (because I always end up leaving tipsy!) Classic pub dishes get a luxe twist, with high-quality ingredients and a hint of Scottish influence throughout the menu.
KONA, FALMOUTH
Kona is a vibrant spot for cocktails and small plates in the heart of Falmouth. Tropical surroundings and laid-back beats set the scene, while inventive drinks crafted with contemporary techniques bring something unexpected to the table. I can highly recommend the boozy brunch!
GURNARDS HEAD, ZENNOR
Am I allowed to have two favourite pubs? If so, this is my second. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is always lovely (I always end up chatting to the locals here) and the interiors are beyond photo-worthy.
ZACRY’S, WATERGATE BAY HOTEL IN NEWQUAY
Perched on the sea wall at Watergate Bay, Zachery’s serves up a menu inspired by its coastal setting; plenty of fresh seafood, balanced with delicious meat and seasonal veg dishes.
THE PETERVILLE INN, ST AGNES
The Peterville Inn is award-winning, and it’s easy to see why. Probably my favourite pub in Cornwall ~ the incredible food, the wonderful staff and the mega-cosy atmosphere make every visit feel special.
THE PIG AT HARLYN BAY, NEAR PADSTOW
The Pig at Harlyn is gorgeous. I love stopping by the Lobster Shed or hanging out in the communal living room with a coffee. With homegrown produce and Cornish suppliers shaping their 25-mile menu, the kitchen is the heart of the house, and nothing feels too formal - a home away from home.
HARBOUR HOUSE, FLUSHING
Harbour House Flushing offers a modern twist on the classic Cornish waterside pub—perfect for a cold pint or a smoked negroni any day of the week, with live music and quiz nights bringing extra buzz at the weekend.
THE NICI HOTEL, NEWQUAY

THE SCARLET HOTEL, NEWQUAY
Team it with a spa day and you’ve got yourself a winner. A daily celebration of nature’s generosity, with breathtaking coastal views, seasonal dishes, and sustainably sourced, slow-aged wines. Adults only, for a truly relaxed experience.
ORTO, PENZANCE
Orto is a neighbourhood restaurant in Penzance, serving Mediterranean food inspired by the Cornish landscape and changing seasons. The menu includes snacks, small plates, handmade pasta, mains and desserts, with a carefully selected list of natural wines.
SUMMERHOUSE, PERRANPORTH
Perched above Perranporth Beach, The Summerhouse pairs sweeping coastal views with relaxed dining. This female-led restaurant serves a vibrant mix of fresh seafood, colourful small plates and laid-back favourites, accompanied by cocktails.
MAZZA, ST IVES
Mazza opened in St Ives in June 2026 and has already created quite a buzz around Cornwall. Everything is cooked over fire (I can confirm we loved our evening here) ~ and the views of St ives are insane.
